10-year figureToday’s saving held flat
Generation varies with roof design, tilt, orientation, and weather; savings vary with usage patterns. Tariffs are expected to rise over 10 years, which would make the long-run figure conservative. Your fixed quote after a free home visit shows your exact numbers.

Raising daytime usage from 30% to 45% costs nothing — it is a habit change, and it beats adding panels for the same money.
On Time of Use

RM254

RM4 a month cheaper than the general tariff
Solar already covers much of the peak window, so what is left to buy is mostly off-peak. Needs a smart meter and is opt-in.
Scenario figures are estimates on the same assumptions as the calculator above. Capacity, network, retail charges and the efficiency rebate are the same under both tariffs, so only the energy charge differs.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
How much solar will I use directly?
+
Direct Solar Usage ranges from 15% to 40%, depending on household consumption. Households with higher electricity consumption usually run more appliances during the day, so they use more solar directly. Here are some examples:
| Monthly TNB Bill | Estimated Direct Solar Usage (Without Energy Storage) |
| RM300 | 15-20% |
| RM500 | 20-25% |
| RM800 | 25-30% |
| RM1,000 | 30-35% |
| RM1,500 | 35-40% |
Why does daytime use matter?
+
Solar Electricity is generated during the day (8am–6pm, peaking around 11am–3pm). The more you use while your system is generating, the more you save – since you avoid grid imports and all bill charges.
Would Time-of-Use (ToU) help me save more?
+
ToU can lower your bill, but actual savings depend on how much of your weekday usage you can shift to off-peak hours (10pm–2pm).
What affects how much I save?
+
Several factors can impact your savings:
- Roof design, tilt and orientation
- Shading from trees, buildings, or roof fixtures
- Excessive dust/pollution from surrounding areas
- Weather patterns
- Proper system maintenance
- Electricity consumption patterns
How else can I maximise my solar savings?
+
- Use more appliances in the daytime (e.g. EV charger, washing machines)
- Minimise shading on your panels (e.g. relocate satellite dishes, prune trees)
- Maintain your system properly to ensure optimal generation
